DR. RICHARD HALFORD

Dr. Richard Halford first became interested in hair restoration when he began his private practice in 1976. He had the procedure himself and was happy with the results. In 1989, after 13 years in plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, he began to shift the concentration of his medical practice to hair restoration.

In addition to his experience as a Plastic Surgeon, he has observed some of the leading hair transplantation doctors in the world. Dr. Halford's training in hair restoration surgery included spending time with Dr. Matt Leavitt, Dr. Craig Ziering, Dr. Blu Stough, Dr. Dow Stough and Dr. David Seager. As a result, Dr. Halford has developed the surgical skills that contribute to his performing high quality hair transplantation.

Dr. Halford joined Medical Hair Restoration because of his interest in becoming more involved in the field. "It was a good way for me to reinvest myself in hair restoration as a physician," he said. "I was impressed with Dr. Leavitt's skills and knowledge. It is a good fit."

Dr. Halford uses his experience as a hair restoration surgery patient to alleviate any patient concerns or anxieties. "Having experienced the patient role firsthand, I can anticipate much of what they are feeling. I want patients to be comfortable with the procedure and happy with the results," said Dr. Halford. "A skilled and experienced surgeon with a genuine interest in the patient and the surgical outcome should be able to accomplish the patient's goals and at least meet, if not exceed, expectations."

Dr. Halford enjoys his patient relationships and is particularly fond of being able to talk with his patients during the procedure. "Many patients enjoy that interaction as much as I do. With hair transplantation, dialogue with patients allows for their higher involvement. It creates a pleasant environment for them and a wonderful working environment for me and my staff."
