Dr. Michael Zufelt, D.O.

Diplomate, American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery

Dr. Michael Zufelt loves practicing medicine and helping people. For these reasons, he chose to become an Emergency Specialist so he could assist people who were in urgent need of his care. Although he found his career truly fulfilling, there was a part of his life that was bothersome and frustrating - he was suffering from male pattern baldness. After thoroughly researching his options, Dr. Zufelt chose to have hair transplantation surgery, and the experience was life changing. "I was so thrilled with the results that I decided to switch directions with my medical career to included hair transplant surgery," said Dr. Zufelt, "It was important to me to be able to extend the same satisfaction I had received to others."

Dr. Zufelt completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, and received his medical degree from the esteemed Midwestern University in Chicago. After practicing as an Emergency Specialist for 13 years, Dr. Zufelt began working under the direction of Dr. Matt Leavitt, the Founder and Medical Director of Medical Hair Restoration, to complete the prestigious MHR fellowship in Hair Transplantation Surgery. "Training under Dr. Leavitt was important to me because of his unequivocal experience and high standards," stated Dr. Zufelt, "And also, Medical Hair Restoration's commitment to excellence in hair transplantation fits with my personal philosophy to help each patient by giving them something they can enjoy for the rest of their lives."

Because of Dr. Zufelt's comprehensive medical training, his empathetic approach to his patients, and the excellent results he consistently achieved while completing the MHR Fellowship, Dr. Leavitt invited him to join the Medical Hair Restoration team of surgeons. "I'm really excited to be part of the MHR team of surgeons because I can utilize the resources and experience of many physicians in a field that is growing and changing," said Dr. Zufelt, "It's important to me to keep up with state of the art technology and be on the leading edge in hair restoration."

For Dr. Zufelt, the most satisfying aspect of being a hair transplant surgeon is seeing his patients return for follow up visits. "Seeing the changes, not only in the volume of their hair, but in the way my patients feel about themselves is deeply gratifying to me," he smiled, "It's just amazing how many aspects of my patient's lives improve when they can look in the mirror and see their hair growing in."
